Ausangate is one of the places with landscapes of the Andes mountain range of Peru. Ausangate stands out as one of the highest mountains in Cusco, the Nevado Ausangate (6384 masl) Accompanied by its 7 turquoise lagoons and the multicolored geological formations of colored mountains.

Itinerary


DAY 1: CUSCO – PACCHANTA – UPISPAMPA
We will start our amazing trip early in the morning when we pick you up from your hotel at 6am. Then we will go to the Vilcanota valley, passing through different picturesque towns on the way, until we reach the town of Pacchanta, 3 hours later. We will settle in our lodge and have a hearty breakfast. We will then begin our hike gradually descending for 3 hours towards our Upispampa campsite at a height of 4440 meters. Here we can observe a beautiful sunset and have dinner in the wonderful hot springs of Upis. After dinner you can rest or contemplate the spectacular starry sky from the hot springs.

DAY 2: UPIS PAMPA – HANANTAPATA
Today after our breakfast, we will start walking, ascending to the Pucacocha pass at 4930m. From the summit we can appreciate the whitest side of the Apu Ausangate hill in all its splendor. The endless mountain range of snow-capped mountains and glaciers with lagoons of different colors, ranging from turquoise to deep blue. From this natural panoramic viewpoint, we will start our descent towards the Hanantapata camp at 4750m. Along the way, you will be able to appreciate the incredible panoramic views. On one side we can contemplate the Cordillera and its polar caps and perpetual glaciers and on the opposite side, in the direction of Vinicunca, we can see the red and ocher tones of the mountains. In the afternoon we will arrive at our camp for the night, which is the perfect vantage point to contemplate the milky way and the galaxies above us.

DAY 3: HANANTAPATA – RAINBOW MOUNTAIN - CUSIPATA – CUSCO.
Our last day will start super early at 4:30 am, so that we will be the first to reach the Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain at a massive elevation of 5050 meters. We will ascend the pass at the Warmisaya pass at 5020 meters high. From here we can take a first look at Vinicunca. You can enjoy this work of art produced by mother nature and take the incredible photos that will accompany your memories of this incredible place. We continue walking for 2 more hours until we reach the Rainbow Mountain. We will have plenty of time to enjoy the area and take some photos before descending to the Chillihuani parking lot, where our lunch will be waiting for us. Then we will take our vehicle back to the City of Cusco, arriving at 4 pm approx. This marks the end of their tour.
