"Las 7 Lagunas de Ausangate" is a beautiful day hike, where you can visit several turquoise lagoons, part of the mountain range and also be close to the Ausangate mountain. You can enjoy the relaxing hot springs with a beautiful view of the mountains and local life.
Itinerary
DAY 1: CUSCO – VINICUNCA RAINBOW MOUNTAIN
We will start our incredible journey early in the morning when we pick you up from your hotel. Then we will go to the Vilcanota Valley, passing through different picturesque towns along the way, until we reach the town of Cusipata, Here, we will enjoy a delicious breakfast, always following the strict health and safety protocols in force. After breakfast, we will continue for 40 minutes to the beginning of the trail where we will begin to climb gradually for 2 hours until we reach the Vinicunca viewpoint at 5050m. Once we have reached the top of the mountain, you will be able to appreciate this natural wonder of mother nature, formed over millions of years.
After enjoying the incredible geology of the Vinicunca mountain and exploring the surrounding area, we will begin our 1 hour descent to our waiting vehicle. Then we will have a delicious lunch break. We will then continue our 3-hour drive to the village of Pacchanta, at the foot of Apu Ausangate. After settling into our lodging for the night, we will enjoy our dinner by a mud stove and appreciate the starry night and distant galaxies in all their splendor. With our telescope equipment.
DAY 2: CIRCUIT OF THE SEVEN LAGOONS – PACCHANTA – CUSCO
We will start the day very early with a good breakfast and we will see the sunrise over the Andes. We will then head up the ascent to the seven lagoons, where you will discover some of the wonders of Mother Nature in all her glory. After a walk of 3 hours and a half, we will arrive at the viewpoint of the seven lagoons where we will be able to appreciate the snowy peaks and the glaciers that surround us. Around every corner, there will be a new discovery in this magical Ausangate walk, where you can find inner peace and be in harmony with nature. The wildlife here is abundant, with the native chinchillas, vicuñas and local birds as company throughout the trip and always in the shadow of the sacred mountain of Ausangate.
After having spent some time enjoying this spectacular place, we will begin our descent through the Comercocha valley and return to our accommodations where a delicious lunch will await us. In the afternoon we can visit the hot springs of Pacchanta before taking our car back to the city of Cusco. This will be the end of your rainbow mountain tour.
